This
is the third largest collection of the works of
Matisse in France. It is housed in the superb Palais
Fénelon. In 1952, Matisse presented his birthplace
with a unique collection, further enriched with
the works of Auguste Herbin and the Genevièvre
Claisse collection. Amongst other works displayed
are bas-reliefs and original plaster casts…
Of his major works on show are "Femme à
la Gandoura bleu" and "Intérieur
avec banc de Soleil."
